In an era of plasma cutters and laser/computer generated figures, Gary still uses a hand-held flame cutting torch to cut his artistic designs out of steel plate, and is known by his peers as one of the best 'cutters' in the country. Gary's ability to grind extraordinary features into the steel reflect his unusual talents and dedication to detail. Gary uses his torch's heat to color the art and has recently devised a patina that many of his wall hangings exhibit. All of these wall hangings are made of steel. The main part is 14 gauge flat steel. All of the colors are from diferent types of oxidation. No two pieces are the same.
